In December 2013, SU-ESW traveled to Huai San, a village in the Mae Ai district of northern Thailand. This particular area of Thailand, close to the border of Myanmar, has been greatly impacted by drug trafficking. As a result, many children of the village of Huai San are orphaned. The SU-ESW team of six students and two professionals assessed the site for a new dormitory for 45 orphans. After successfully raising over $18,000, the primary structure of the dormitory was completed in March 2016! Thank you to our major sponsors Carlos Herrera and the Rotary Club of Emerald City and to all of our generous supporters. We did it together!
